Misbahul Haq resigns as chief selector of Pakistan cricket team

The Former Pakistan cricket team captain, Misbahul Haq has resigned as Pakistan national men’s cricket team chief selector. He will now serve only as the head coach.

According to media reports, the announcement has been made by Misbahul Haq in a news conference on Wednesday. He was appointed to the joint position of head coach and chief selector for the men’s team in September 2019.

Misbahul Haq was criticized by cricket experts and fans for keeping two posts at a time and questions were raised over his performance also after Pakistan lost Test series in England this summer.

However, His appointment came after a unanimous nod from a five-member panel, which interviewed several candidates and submitted their recommendations to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani.
