The former Member of the National Assembly (MNA), Ali Wazir has been sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand by the Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad.

According to the media reports, the fraud case against former MNA Ali Wazir was heard in the court of Administrative Judge Raja Jawad Abbas today (Thursday, September 7). He was presented in court by the police on completion of a 3-day physical remand.

On Ali Wazir’s physical remand, Administrative Judge Raja Jawad Abbas delivered the reserved decision. He claimed that Ali Wazir’s request for a physical remand by the police was denied. On September 11, the court set a hearing date for Ali Wazir’s bail request in the fraud case.

The prosecution asked for a 6-day physical remand of Ali Wazir at the start of the hearing. What has changed in the three days since the physical remand? said Judge Raja Jawad Abbas. Ali Wazir needs more investigation, according to the prosecutor, and physical detention. First, the administrative judge requested information on the legal obligation that was brought before the judge. Regarding the judge’s obligations, the prosecutor stayed silent.

The regulations were read in court on the attorney’s behalf by the on-call judge. He inquired as to how many days Ali Wazir had already been imprisoned. The duty judge can give physical remand and then he can also send the defendant to judicial remand, the lawyer informed the court, adding that Ali Wazir has been on remand for five days already, is being treated in a poor manner, and there is no bathroom facility.

The administrative judge questioned why the session judges were being hauled before him given that the anti-terrorism court judges had just returned from vacation the day before yesterday. The Chairman responded to PTI’s request for bail by asking, “Why are they bringing me? I’m not the duty judge of ATC.” Instead of writing, “I am Ali Wazir,” the prosecution wrote this time, “The accused is cunning and cunning.”
