Anmol Bishnoi – the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi – was arrested in California, USA, following a two-year manhunt.
According to the media reports, Anmol Bishnoi’s arrest came after the Mumbai Police issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest. The US Immigration Department discovered Bishnoi had been traveling using forged documents. He reportedly fled to the US in May 2022 under the alias “Bhanu,” entering the country with a fake passport and a fabricated reference letter.

The arrest was the product of joint operations by Indian and American authorities. The FBI spoke with Indian officials, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Mumbai Police, to assess the situation and negotiate the extradition process. According to Indian media, the FBI discussed the material with Indian officials to determine the next stages in Bishnoi’s deportation process. However, the US State Department declined to comment, directing jurisdictional issues to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
It is pertinent to mention here that Anmol Bishnoi is a major figure in the Bishnoi crime syndicate, known for its involvement in violent crimes, extortion, and arms smuggling. He is linked to at least 18 criminal cases, including murders, shootings, and other violent crimes.
