The former skipper of Afghanistan cricket team, Asghar Afghan has revealed that he decided to retire suddenly from international cricket because the Pakistan defeat hurt too much.

According to media reports, Asghar Afghan has made these remarks with tears in his eyes after their match with Namibia on Sunday. The anchor asked him the question that is on everyone’s minds: Why did he choose to retire in the middle of the T20 World Cup?

The cricket said, “In the last match [against Pakistan], we were hurt too much and that is why I decided to retire. He further stated that another reason is that he wanted young Afghanistan players could have a chance to earn laurels for Afghanistan.

“Most people are asking me why now, but it’s something I cannot explain,” Afghan said, adding that it was difficult for him to point towards a single memorable moment, adding that there were plenty.

It is to be mentioned here that Asghar Afghan has scored a quick 31 runs off 23 balls in his last international match for Afghanistan. His side won the game against Namibia by 62 runs.
