According to the media reports, the news was announced by Aun’s brother Ali Sher Khosa in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) to inform the public about the incident. He wrote that armed men took Aun from their Lahore apartment in the middle of the night.

Ali Sher Khosa urged users to pray for his brother’s safe return and to share the news widely, emphasizing its importance for their family. People on social media have expressed their astonishment and concern over the news of Aun’s kidnapping, which has prompted uproar. Many people think that his disappearance was caused by his satirical song about rising power costs.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) condemned Aun’s abduction in a statement on X. PTI demanded Aun’s release, along with all other missing persons, calling it unacceptable and illegal. They wrote, “Let the Pakistani people live. Don’t further destroy our moral values and democracy.”

Imran Afzal Raja, a social media user, characterized Aun as a respectable artist who stays within his boundaries and never makes fun of others. Instead of taking such drastic measures, he advised anyone upset by his lighter humor to think about relocating to an African nation. Not to be outdone, celebrated poet Noshi Gilani tweeted, “Aun Ali Khosa has also disappeared. Masked men came and took him away.”
