According to the letter, the Prime Minister and the opposition could not agree on a single name for the caretaker Prime Minister. The committee will consist of eight members of the outgoing National Assembly.

It is pertinent to mention here that before the Speaker National Assembly, the President had also written letters to the Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif.

However, Shahbaz Sharif had written a letter to President Arif Alvi refusing to consult the caretaker Prime Minister. He said that he was violating the restraining order of the Supreme Court on the issue.
