The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched launched Kisan Card in a ceremony in Hafizabad today (Monday, October 28).

While addressing the ceremony, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that efforts are being made day and night to improve the lives of farmers. She said that Nawaz Sharif was supposed to issue Kisan Card first. She said that the farmers will get full reward for their hard work through this card, no one will have to blackmail, they buy wheat from the farmer, the government does not buy, they want to reward the farmers for their hard work.

“The lives of farmers will be saved from fraud and blackmailers. More than 12 lakh applications were received for the Card. Earlier the budget was kept for 5 lakh Kisan Cards, after seeing the trust of farmers, the budget was increased. It has been increased from 5 lakhs to 7.5 lakhs. The sack of urea was worth 6 thousand rupees, now it is worth 4 thousand 400 rupees, and the wheat seed has become cheaper,” the Chief Minister of Punjab said.

Maryam Nawaz further stated that the farmers will not pay bribe for Kisan Card. She said that the government will deliver the card to their homes, seeing the tendency of the farmers towards wheat, the motivation is increasing, they will give a subsidy of Rs. 10 Lakh. Machinery will be available on rent, farmers will get rid of expensive electricity from solar system. Punjab is the only province where bread is available for 12 rupees, she added.
