Civil war of Afghanistan can be avert through power sharing: FM Qureshi

The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that power sharing is the way to avert civil war in Afghanistan.

According to media reports, the Foreign Minister has made these remarks while speaking at the Senate’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Friday.

On the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that it is our effort and desire that the neighboring country does not plunge into the civil war again.

The Foreign Minister further stated that Pakistan wants that the dignified return of Afghan refugees be made part of the Afghan peace process.

FM Qureshi has said that Iran has an important role regarding Afghanistan which cannot be overlooked. He said Pakistan’s relations with Iran has further strengthened.

“We are establishing border markets with Iran,” he added.
