The final tranche of 1.1 billion dollars has been approved by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Pakistan under the Stand-By Arrangement.

According to the media reports, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has allowed for immediate disbursement of the final tranche of 1.1 billion dollars for Pakistan, bringing total disbursements under the arrangement to about three billion dollars.

On the 20th of last month, Pakistan and the IMF came to a Staff Level Agreement about the second and final review for the remaining 1.1 billion dollars under the Stand-By Arrangement.

Pakistan’s committed policy efforts under the 2023 Stand-By Arrangement have advanced efforts to restore economic stability, according to an IMF statement. It stated that inflation has started to drop, external pressures have lessened, and moderate growth has resumed.
