The resignation of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has been accepted by the Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhamad Sarwar on Friday.
According to media reports, the Punjab cabinet has also been dissolved following the acceptance of the resignation.
The reports said that Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhamad Sarwar sought approval from Prime Minister Imran Khan before taking his final decision and he has summoned a session of the Punjab Assembly tomorrow (April 2) to elect the new leader of the House.

The Governor Punjab left for the federal capital Islamabad earlier to seek suggestions regarding Usman Buzdar’s approval. A discussion regarding Buzdar’s resignation was held in Islamabad in light of the ongoing political situation.
The Premier instructed Chaudhry Muhamad Sarwar regarding Usman Buzdar’s resignation after he briefed the Prime Minister about his meeting with the outgoing Chief Minister.
