Govt committed to introduce electronic voting machine to ensure transparency in elections: PM Imran Khan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government is committed to introduce electronic voting machine to ensure transparency in the elections.

This has been stated by the Prime Minister Imran Khan while speaking at a briefing regarding progress on manufacturing of electronic voting machine in Islamabad on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the PM Imran Khan has directed the concerned authorities to introduce modern security features in the proposed machine. He said in the view of past experiences, it is in the interest of democracy and the country to use electronic voting machine in election process.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed that voting machine will help to make the voting process transparent and fair and it will also secure results.

Imran Khan was apprised that the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSATS and NIE have jointly manufactured a machine which has been tested with encouraging results.
