Govt making efforts for promotion of tourism of Pakistan

The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the government is making efforts for the promotion of tourism of Pakistan ensuring protection of natural, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the country.

According to media reports, the Foreign Minister has expressed these views while talking to Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili in Madrid on Wednesday.

On the occasion, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is a rich country having safe beautiful areas and in view of the improving security situation, many countries have revised their travel advisory to Pakistan. He appreciated the effective role of UNWTO in promoting tourism and conserving heritage across the world.

The Foreign Minister has hoped that expertise of the UNWTO team would be utilized for the digitization and technical assistance of the tourism sector in Pakistan.

FM Qureshi also briefed on the details of the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ten billion Tsunami Tree project to make tourist destinations safer in Pakistan.
