Govt provides equal opportunities to minorities to play their role in national development: President

The incumbent government is taking all necessary measures to protect the rights of minorities as well as ensure the security of their holy places.

This has been stated by the President Dr Arif Alvi while talking to members of National Commission of Minorities, led by Chairman Chela Ram Kewlani, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Dr Arif Alvi has said that the government provided equal rights and opportunities to minorities and encouraged them to play their role in the national development.

The President further stated that steps are being taken to ensure the protection of churches, temples, gurdwaras, shrines and other places of worships of minority communities.

The NCM members thanked the government for constituting the Commission and protecting the rights of minorities.
