Gulbar Khan elected as Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan

Gulbar Khan, who has been a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly since November 2020, has been elected as Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the media reports, Gulbar Khan secured nineteen votes out of twenty and was elected as Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The other three candidates Raja Azam Khan, Javed Ali Manwa, and Raja Muhammad Zakria Maqpoon boycotted the election.

After his election, Chief Minister Gulbar expressed his commitment to work for the peace and prosperity of Gilgit-Baltistan. He thanked all the members who voted for him.

According to Wikipedia, Gulbar is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly since November 2020. He used to be a member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), but later on joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He contested the 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election on 15 November 2020 from GBA-18 (Diamer-IV) on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He won the election by the margin of 807 votes over the runner-up Independent Malik Kifayatur Rehman. He garnered 6,793 votes while Rehman received 5,986 votes.

The politicians and friends have conveyed their felicitations and best wishes to the newly elected Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and expressed hope for the betterment of the region.
