Haniya Aslam – one of the musicians of the Zeb and Haniya musical duo who got their fame from Coke Studio Pakistan – has passed away reportedly after a cardiac arrest.
According to the media reports, the news has been confirmed by Zeb Bangash, who was the other half of the singing duo, in a post on Instagram. The musician, who was regarded as one of the best in the nation, collaborated with Zeb on several catchy tunes in their band. Haniya relocated to Canada in 2014 to further her education in the arts and pursue a solo music career.

Zeb and Haniya, the band, gained popularity in Coke Studio Pakistan’s Season 2 with their well-known songs “Paimona,” “Chal Diye,” and “Chup.” Their lively song “Bibi Sanam” showcased their versatility. In addition, Haniya Aslam served as the sound engineer for the 2016 Pakistani short film “Lala Begum.” Additionally, she composed the soundtrack for the 2016 Pakistani love film “Dobara Phir Se.”
One of the very few publications concerning Pakistan’s modern youth music was co-authored by the late artist. Friends, acquaintances, and admirers of the artist are shocked by her unexpected passing, not just in Pakistan but also abroad.
