If thieves (opposition) speaking against them, it means they (Chiefs) are right people: PM

The fact that the opposition was criticizing the chiefs of Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) proved that he had appointed the right people to the posts.

This has been stated by the Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the Azadi Parade ceremony in connection with the 73rd Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan in Gilgit on Sunday.

The Prime Minister while responding to the recent remarks from the opposition camp, said, “If these thieves [opposition] are speaking against them, it means they [chiefs] are the right people.”

Imran Khan has said that the government has decided to give provisional provincial status to Gilgit-Baltistan keeping in view United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. He said the government is focusing on development of all backward areas of the country.

“Gilgit Scouts liberated this region by rendering sacrifices of their lives. A strong army is indispensable for a country to protect its sovereignty and solidarity,” he said.

The Premier further said that Modi-led Indian government has been working on Hindutva agenda and they have introduced discriminatory laws against Muslims in India. He said our armed forces are successfully fighting terrorism and extremism in the country which is being supported through a planned conspiracy of enemy.
