Ilyas Ahmad Bilour – the former senator and senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) – passed away in Peshawar today (Saturday, November 16).
According to media reports, he was the brother of Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Bashir Ahmad Bilour. His Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in Wazir Bagh, Peshawar.

ANP Leader Ilyas Ahmad Bilour was born into a political family on January 9, 1940, in Peshawar, where he received his early education. He earned his Faculty of Arts degree from Edwards College. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Karachi in 1969 and later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Al-Khair University, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in 1999.
Ilyas Bilour was the managing director of Flour and General Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. He was elected to Pakistan’s Senate as an Awami National Party (ANP) candidate in 2012 and served as President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
Senior Political leaders have expressed grief over the death of Ilyas Bilour. ANP Chairman Aimal Wali Khan also expressed deep sorrow and prayed for the party leader.
