The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan has regretted not contacting Russia to purchase oil in his tenure.
Addressing a seminar via video link on Tuesday, Imran Khan said that we should have purchased oil from Russia when we assumed charge of the government. I am sure that we could have convinced the Americans to let us buy cheap oil from Russia, he said further sharing how India made efforts to buy oil from Moscow.
The former Prime Minister also recalled the decisions made when PTI was in power. He said that his government should have only given amnesty to industries and admitted the mistake of not doing so.
“We removed barriers for exporters. We wanted to introduce technology in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR),” he added.
