The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that India has created 785 websites to disseminate fake news against Pakistan.

Accoring to media reports, the Information Minister has made these remarks while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Friday. He said these websites were linked with Asian News Agency and India’s leading news channels to give credence to falsehood.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that on average 175 fake news were created on daily basis by an Indian based channel. Similarly, he said, the incident of mistreatment of a TikToker at Minar-e-Pakistan and murder of Noor Maqadam were used to malign Pakistan that women are unsafe in the country.

The Information Minister has urged the media to provide solutions to deal with the issue of fake news. He said the issue of fake news has become a big challenge the era of modern technology.

Fawad Chaudhry has emphasized on imparting training to journalists in the realm of modern technology, enabling them to deal with the modern narrative warfare, while disseminating information.

“The media should initiate a debate within itself to face the challenge of fake news,” he added.
