Iranian FM reaches Islamabad on 2 day visit

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has Islamabad on Tuesday on a two-day trip. He will will hold top-level talks on bilateral and regional issues during the visit.

Javed Zarif will hold delegation-level talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Army Chief General Qamara Javed Bajwa, a press release from the Foreign Office has said.

The Foreign Minister of Iran is being accompanied by a delegation comprising political and economic experts, including Iran’s special envoy for Afghanistan Mohammad Ibrahim Taheriyan. This would be Taheriyan’s first visit to Islamabad in his capacity as the Iranian point man on Afghanistan.

Javed Zarif will also attend an event in connection with Iqbal Day celebrations.
