Lakki Marwat Blast: PM expresses grief over martyrdom of four police personnel

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast and attack on Police Station Saddar in Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of four police personnel including DSP Iqbal Mohmand.

In a statement on Thursday, the Prime Minister has said that sustainability and development of Pakistan rests in the elimination of terrorism. He paid glowing tributes to DSP Headquarters Iqbal Mohmand, Sepoy Waqar, Marjan and Karamat, who embraced martyrdom in the Lakki Marwat Blast.

PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolence and sympathies with the families of the martyrs. He said police is playing excellent role as the first line of defence against terrorism. Police officers and Jawans bravely fought against the terrorists’ attack on Saddar Police Station in Lakki Marwat, he added.

The Premier also prayed for the speedy recovery of Driver Sardar Ali of the Armed Personnel Carrier and six other injured policemen and directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to give martyrs package to the killed policemen and best treatment facilities to the injured.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan has assured all possible support to bereaved families. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police has rendered matchless sacrifices for establishing peace in the province. He paid glorious tributes to Police martyrs on behalf of provincial government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of four martyred police personnel in the Lakki Marwat attack were offered in Police Lines in Lakki Marwat today.
