The government of Punjab has imposed a ban on the production and sale of plastic bags across the province from today (Wednesday, June 5).

According to the media reports, the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz made this significant announcement in her message on World Environment Day 2024. She said the plastic ban policy will be strictly enforced, particularly in hotels, restaurants, and eateries.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also highlighted the harmful effects of plastic on the environment and human health, stating that the “No to Plastic” campaign, aimed at reducing environmental pollution and promoting eco-friendly initiatives.
