MNA Mumtaz Mustafa – the Member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf elected from the NA 171 constituency – died of a heart attack today (Monday, August 5).
According to the media reports, PTI MNA Mumtaz Mustafa hailed from the southern Punjab district Rahim Yar Khan and was residing at the Parliament Lodges, where he breathed his last. The lower chamber of parliament met to express condolences on Mustafa’s passing and adjourned without further action. Because of Mustafa’s passing, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq declared that there would also be no pounding for the guests who were present to see the proceedings.
Lawmaker Khawaja Izhaar ul Haq of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) said that since other members’ cars were parked on the road, the ambulance was unable to get to Mustafa’s lodge to transport him to the hospital. At this point, the speaker of the NA gave the deputy speaker an order to get straight to the Parliament Lodges and get the automobiles off the road.
Omar Ayub Khan, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, expressed his sympathy on Mustafa’s passing and praised his gentle nature. The PTI chief declared, “Mumtaz Mustafa will always be remembered.”
Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Law Minister, described Mustafa as a well-known attorney and a wonderful person with exceptional skills. In addition, he prayed for his family and the deceased’s soul.
