Nation observing 25th shahadat anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan

The nation is observing the 25th shahadat anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan, Nishan-e-Haider, today (Friday, July 5).

According to the media reports, Captain Karnal Sher Khan was born in district Swabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 1970. He emerged as the symbol of mettle and courage and inflicted heavy losses on the Indian forces while defending the five strategic posts at the height of 17,000 feet in Gultary during the Kargil War.

Karnal Sher was martyred on this day in 1999 gallantly defending the motherland and was decorated with the country`s highest gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider.   

The indomitable Captain Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, has received emotional tributes from the Pakistani Armed Forces, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and the Services Chiefs. In a statement, the ISPR stated that we are motivated to protect Pakistan at all costs by Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s outstanding leadership and steadfast courage. It claimed that Captain Karnal Sher Khan’s valor, steadfast devotion, and unflinching allegiance left their mark on history during the Kargil War.

His martyrdom is a moving reminder of the ultimate costs incurred by the armed forces in defense of our nation. Mosques offered prayers and Quran Khawani on the 25th Martyrdom Day of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed (Nishan-i-Haider). Religious experts spoke at the event, saying that Pakistan Army troops who gave their lives to defend their country should be treated with dignity and respect. They claimed that Captain Sher Khan Shaheed was a valiant native who would live on in everyone’s hearts forever.
