Pakistan observes death anniversary of Actor Agha Talish today

The 23^rd death anniversary of legendary Pakistani Actor Agha Talish is being observed on Sunday, February 19^th 2023.

According to the details, the Pakistani Actor Agha Talish was born in Ludhiana in 1926 and his full name is Agha Ali Abbas Qizilbash. He started his career as an actor in 1947 and went on to have a forty-year long career in the Pakistani film industry. His biggest hit film was Shaheed, which was released in 1962.

Agha Talish earned six Nigar Awards and Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 1989. He passed away on this day in 1998, in Lahore.

According to Wikipedia, the breakthrough film of the actor in Pakistan was film producer Saifuddin Saif’s Saat Lakh (1957) where his on-screen performance for this popular hit song was widely admired, Yaaro Mujhe Maaf Rakho Mein Nashe Mein Hoon. On 5 January 1962 Shaheed was released, his biggest hit film. A film on the relevant theme of Palestine with a script by Riaz Shahid and music by Rasheed Attre; it was produced and directed by Khalil Qaiser. The highlight was the instant hit Uss Bewafa Ka Sheher Hai Aur Hum Hain Dostau by renowned poet Muneer Niazi, music by Rasheed Attre.
