PM and COAS completes consultations regarding DG ISI appointment

The Federal Minister for Information and Information, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has announced that consultation between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa have been completed regarding the appointment of Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI).

According to media reports, the Information Minister has made the announcement on Wednesday. He said that the process of a fresh appointment is underway.

In a tweet, Fawad Chaudhry has said that the consultations between the prime minister and the army chief on the appointment of a new DG ISI have been completed and the process for the new appointment has begun.

The Information Minister further added that the civil and military leadership has yet again proved that all institutions are united for the country’s stability, integrity and development.

According to Geo, the Prime Minister Office had received a summary for DG ISI’s appointment sent by the Ministry of Defence.
