PM won’t compromise on freedom of expression: Marriyum Aurangzeb

The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif will not compromise on protection of freedom of expression.

According to media reports, the Information Minister has made these remarks while talking to representatives of Media Joint Action Committee in Islamabad on Saturday.

On the occasion, Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that PM Shehbaz Sharif wants promotion of the constitutional and civilized right to freedom of expression. She said that the Government is well aware of the issues of the Journalists community and steps are being taken in this regard.

The Information Minister further stated that the role of media is imperative for country’s progress so it should play its role in curbing the riotous rhetoric based on lies.
