PML-Q decides to challenge election of Punjab Chief Minister

The leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid and provincial assembly Speaker, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that PML-Q has decided to challenge the election of Punjab Chief Minister.

According to media reports, a meeting of PML-Q and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party was held under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday.

Addressing the meeting, Pervaiz Elahi said that a bogus, unconstitutional and controversial election was held yesterday. He said that the election of the Chief Minister has been declared controversial by the Governor and Advocate General of Punjab. This is a constitutional issue.

The Speaker Punjab Assembly further stated that in the past the courts were attacked and now the Punjab Assembly was attacked. What happened yesterday has never happened before in the parliamentary history of Punjab. The police have come to attack the dacoits, he said, adding that all this happened under the leadership of Hamza Shahbaz, his target was to get PTI and our members out of the house.

Pervaiz Elahi has said that the Deputy Speaker conducted the election in the gallery which has no constitutional status. Anyone can hold the election by holding a megaphone in the gallery of the guests. He said that just as a fake election was held, find a fake governor and take a fake oath. We have convened a meeting of constitutional experts. Action will be taken to challenge this unconstitutional election. ۔
