President Emomali Rahmon vows to further strengthen ties with Pakistan

The President of Tajikstan, Emomali Rahmon has expressed the commitment to further strengthen relations with Pakistan.

According to media reports, the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon was talking to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Dushanbe on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Emomali Rahmon has expressed satisfaction over the nature of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

On the occasion, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that there are lot of opportunities of expanding relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan in different fields including trade.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi has noted that the early completion of Central Asia-South Asia (CASA) 1000 project will prove to be instrumental for establishment of energy corridor amongst the South and Central Asian states.

During the meeting, both the leaders have also discussed regional security situation including the Afghan peace process.

FM Qureshi has said that Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts for peace in Afghanistan and in the region.
