PTI Protest in Islamabad: Police arrested the activists and sisters of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan – Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khanum – from D Chowk in the federal capital.

According to the media reports, the Islamabad police said that Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khanum have been transferred to the Women Police Station while the arrested PTI workers have been transferred to the Kohsar Police Station.

As per media reports, the government has taken tight security measures in Islamabad because of the PTI protest. Section 144 is in force in the twin cities and all roads connecting Rawalpindi Islamabad have been blocked with containers and barricades.

All roads leading to Islamabad’s D Chowk have been closed with barbed wire, while the Islamabad Expressway is also closed, heavy police force has been deployed, and double-layer containers have been placed on Faizabad Bridge.

The capital has no mobile phone service, Metro bus service has been suspended temporarily, riding a two-wheeler is prohibited, and road closures have shuttered most of the business centers in Rawalpindi, Murree Road, and the neighboring districts. Due to the inconveniences caused by the closure of all municipal schools, both government and private, commuters and patients have experienced inconvenience.
