Qureshi reiterates Pakistan's firm commitment towards GSP Plus preferential trade regime

The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reiterated the firm commitment of Pakistan towards the GSP Plus preferential trade regime and effective implementation of the 27 related international conventions.

According to media reports, the Foreign Minister has expressed his views while talking to the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell on the side-lines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey on Friday.

During the meeting, both the leader have discussed entire spectrum of Pakistan-EU relations as well as global and regional situation including Afghan peace process and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K). They agreed to continue to maintain high level engagement to further strengthen Pakistan-EU relations.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi has underscored that Pakistan-EU relations have further strengthened with the implementation of the Strategic Engagement Plan, signed in June 2019.

The Foreign Minister also emphasized that at a time of rising Islamophobia, racism and populism, the international community must show a common resolve against xenophobia, intolerance and incitement to violence on the basis of religion or belief.
