Story of a local Sailor from Nowshera: Report by Nauman Khattak

This report is based on Arshad Khan, who is a local boatman who sail his boat and also do fishing at bank of River Kabul.

Arshad Khan has said that fishermen use illegal fishing methods like adding pesticides to water, using electric currents to stun the fish and blowing dynamite.

“These methods not only kill fish but also affect thousands of other species in the rivers but government is not taking serious action against them,” he said, adding that inflation also effect his daily routine life as petroleum has now so high rate and can’t be affordable.
