Tajikistan considers Pakistan as brother and wants to promote land linkages

Tajikistan wants to promote land linkages with Pakistan for regional development and prosperity, President Emomali Rahmon has said.

According to media reports, the Tajik President has expressed these views while speaking at a banquet hosted by the Pakistani President Dr Arif Alvi in his honour at Presidency in Islamabad on Thursday. He said his country considers Pakistan as a brotherly and reliable partner and his visit to will give a new impetus to relations between the two countries.

President Emomali Rahmon further stated that the agreements signed with Pakistan will take the relationship to new heights. He also invited President Dr Arif Alvi to visit Tajikistan.

In his remarks, the Pakistani President has said that the relationship between both countries is getting better and stronger day by day. He said Pakistan will provide access to Central Asian states to trade with the world through its ports.

“Bilateral relations in the areas of trade, investment and people to people contact will be further enhanced,” he added.
