The Journey of Selcan Hatun! Mother of Kayi Tribe

The long journey of Selcan Hatun has come to an end in the 91st episode of Kurulus Osman.

The character of Selcan Hatun was the longest character that has started in the first episode of Dirilis Ertugrul and ended in the 91st episode of Kurulus Osman.

Selcan was wife of Sulaiman Shah son Gundugdo Bey in the series. She was raised by Sulaiman Shah Haima Hanum as her father was killed by Sulaiman. They tied the of Selcan with their elder son Gundugdo.

In start of the series, the character of Selcan was like a villain, she wanted her husband to be the leader of the Kayi Tribe and for that she was always involved in bad works. But after meeting the muslim scholar Ibn-al-Arabi her character changed and she becomes a good woman.

Selcan has raised all the sons of Ertugrul Ghazi as her own sons were martyred during the war and Erturul wife Halime also died while giving birth to Osman. She raised Osman like her own children and thus she becames the mother of Osman. She also became the mother of the whole tribe after Haima Hanum.

She has scrifised many things including her children during the series. Her character is the longest character of both the series. The second most longest character of the series was Bamsi Bey who embraced martyrdom in the second season of Kurulus Osman.

The fans expressed the grief after Selcan Hatun’s died. She died in the arms of Osman Bey when he recued his sons, conquered the Bilijik and returned to his tribe.

It is pertinent to mention here that the character of Selcan has been portrayed by Turkish actress Didem Balcin. She has made a fan base in Pakistan because of her character and she has also worked with Pakistani brands.
