WHO to assist Pakistan to contain monkeypox

As the virus is spreading rapidly, the World Health Organization has assured to assist Pakistan as per its requirement to contain monkeypox.

According to the media reports, the WHO made these remarks in a statement on Saturday. World Health Organization said it has been working and investigating with the government of Pakistan on Monkeypox, as the situation is still evolving.

The Organization assured to assist the government of Pakistan, especially in lab testing, Points of Entry, and provision of testing kits.

According to an official of the Ministry of National Health Services, there is no evidence of localized transmission of the disease in the country so far and the risk of international spread of the disease from Pakistan remains low.

World Health Organization does not recommend any restrictions on trade on the currently available information regarding monkeypox outbreaks.
