Asim Saleem Bajwa resigns, Khalid Mansoor appointed as SAPM for CPEC Affairs

The Lieutenant General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa has resigned from his position as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority’s chief.

According to details, the news has been reveled by the Asim Saleem Bajwa himself in a statement on Twitter on Tuesday. He thanked the Prime Minister Imran Khan and the government for their support.

“I bow my head before Allah Almighty for giving me an opportunity to raise & steer the important institution of CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction. Wouldn’t have been possible without full confidence& support of the PM & his Govt,” he wrote.

“The course is set for future progression of CPEC, this journey will go on. My best wishes to Kahlid Mansoor sb, who is fully equipped to take it forward. CPEC is life line for Pakistan, it will transform us into a progressive and fully developed country InshaAllah,” he added.

Kahlid Mansoor has been appointed as Special Assistant to Prime Minister for CPEC Affairs. He was welcomed by the Planning Minister Asad Umar and PM’s aide on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill in their tweets.

According to media reports, Khalid Mansoor has experience working abroad, with Chinese companies and banks.
