Current load-shedding is a result of weak power transmission system: Hammad

The Federal Minister for Energy, Hammad Azhar has said that no scheduled load-shedding is taking place in any part of the country.

According to details, the Energy Minister has made these remarks while addressing a joint news conference along with Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Prime Minister’s Advisor on Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar in Islamabad on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Hammad Azhar has said that current load-shedding is a result of weak power transmission system. He said that the capacity of the existing transmission system is 24,000 megawatts of electricity.

The Energy Minister further stated that the incumbent government is working on improving the transmission system and it has so far enhanced its capacity from 20,000 to 24,000 megawatts

On the occasion, Fawad Chaudhry has said that the entire world is appreciating Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan is in contact with all the Afghan Groups for an inclusive government to have peace in Afghanistan.

“The incumbent government is pursuing the vision of PM Imran Khan that Pakistan will be a partner in peace, but not in the conflict,” he added.
