Govt establishing 48 Ehsaas Nashonuma Centres in 13 districts

The government is establishing forty-eight Ehsaas Nashonuma Centers in thirteen districts across the country, to provide health services to mothers and children and prevent stunting growth among them.

According to media reports, this was informed at the introductory meeting of Ehsaas Nashonuma steering committee in Islamabad on Tuesday, with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar in the chair.

The briefing on the progress of Ehsaas Nashonuma programme has been given to the steering committee members.

The Ehsaas Nashonuma programme is being implemented in partnership with the provinces and World Food Programme.

The steering committee was also informed that Nashonuma is three year programme that will deliver conditional cash transfers to the vulnerable pregnant women and mothers with children under two years, to enable them get nutritious food, immunizations, and attendance of health awareness sessions.
