Maryam Nawaz Sharif – the Chief Minister of Punjab – has approved the establishment of women’s jails in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.

According to the media reports, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her views while chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore today (Wednesday, May 22). She emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan for prison reforms and directed that new jails be constructed outside city limits.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister of Punjab also directed to revamping of Bakshi Khanas and lock-ups, approving related projects to enhance these facilities.
