The Federal Minister for Energy, Omar Ayub Khan has directed for launching new projects in Karachi to ensure smooth gas supply.
According to media reports, the Energy Minister has given the direction during a meeting with Members of National Assembly from Karachi, who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Khalid Rahman and other senior officers also participated in the meeting through video link.
During the meeting, the various matters of Karachi city especially gas issues were discussed.
On the occasion, Omar Ayub Khan has directed the SSGC management to remain in contact with the public representatives. He also issued directives for launching new projects in Karachi in order to ensure smooth gas supply.
The Members of National Assembly from Karachi appreciated the Energy Minister for taking prompt notice for addressal of the issue.
