Pakistan and Iran agreed to reduce the ongoing tension and mutual tension between the two countries and to restore bilateral relations.

According to the media reports, Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Iran had a telephone contact. During the conversation, Caretaker Foreign Minister of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani and his counterpart from Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian agreed to restore bilateral relations and to reduce the ongoing tension and mutual tension between the two countries and to take confidence-building measures.

The phone call included a thorough discussion of relations between Pakistan and Iran. The two foreign ministers decided to work together to develop a coordinated plan to address the parties’ primary issues and obstacles. In addition, the two foreign ministers decided to reestablish diplomatic ties, and other nations in the area are emphasizing easing tensions between Pakistan and Iran.

Amidst the strained relations between Iran and Pakistan, the Turkish Foreign Minister also payed a courtesy call to acting Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, wishing him well and exchanging pleasantries. Jalil Abbas Jilani, Pakistan’s acting foreign minister, briefed his Turkish colleague about Pakistan’s policies and current situation, stating that Pakistan had launched Operation Marg Bar Samachar to target terrorists.
