Pakistan committed to work with US as partner for peace and to advance common interests: FM

The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has emphasized that the priorities of newly elected United States (US) President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Imran Khan are same.

According to media reports, the Foreign Minister has stated this while addressing a news conference in Multan on Saturday.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he discussed bilateral ties and Afghan Peace Process with the US Secretary of State Antony J. Blinklen in a telephonic conversation. He assured the US Secretary of States that Pakistan has facilitated the Afghan peace process and is committed to work with US as partner for peace and to advance common interests.

The Foreign Minister has informed his American counterpart about the stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan on terrorism, climate change and regional connectivity. He said stability in Afghanistan will bring stability in Pakistan and the entire region.

“Pakistan desires peace, stability and prosperity in the region,” he added.
