Scholarships will be given to young film makers to portray the real soft image of Pakistan, the Prime Minister Imran Khan has said, adding that the world does not acknowledge copied material and we should promote our own cultural values and new ideas.
According to media reports, the Prime Minister has expressed these views while addressing National Amateur Short film festival organised by the Ministry of Information and Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in Islamabad on Saturday. He urged the youngsters to promote Pakistanism as they have huge opportunities in film industry.
On the occasion, Imran Khan, while talking about the religious tourism potential in Pakistan, has said that the world has acknowledged our effort of Kartarpur corridor. He said Pakistan has twelve climatic zones which mean it can produce everything and can export to the whole world.
In his remarks, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain has said that the incumbent government is taking bold steps to utilize modern technologies for film making purposes. He said media plays an important role in promoting the narrative of states.
The Information Minister further stated that as per the vision of Prime Minister, the government is establishing first Digital Media University this year.
Fawad Chaudhry has also thanked the ISPR and said it has given a new dimension to short films in the country which is commendable. He said Radio Pakistan, national news agency APP and PTV will start their digitalised services by August this year.
Speaking on the occasion, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar has said that it is high time for Pakistan to improve its perception on the global level as we have almost won the war against terror. He said the enemies besides their efforts to harm us through the war, have been attempting to dent the country’s stature and image.
