Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif – the Prime Minister of Pakistan – has stressed the need to further strengthen mutually beneficial Pakistan-Azerbaijan cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and security domains.
According to the media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his views while talking to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who paid a courtesy call to him in Islamabad today (Thursday, May 31). He expressed appreciation that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have always extended their full support to each other on issues of core interest and reaffirmed that they would continue to do so at every international forum.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Baku’s appointment as this year’s COP29 host city, which is set to take place in November. He promised that Pakistan and Azerbaijan would collaborate closely to make sure this significant event went off without a hitch. Shehbaz Sharif extended his warmest invitation to President Aliyev to pay an official visit to Pakistan later this year, while also reminiscing about his positive and constructive meetings with the Azeri leader during his visit to Baku last year.
The Prime Minister was updated on the talks between the two foreign ministers earlier today by the Azeri foreign minister, who also thanked him for coming. Additionally, he gave the Prime Minister the heartfelt greetings of the Azeri leadership and reassured him of Azerbaijan’s will to strengthen its relations with Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
