PM’s package for Rabi crops approved by Federal cabinet

Prime Minister’s Package for Rabi Crops has been approved by the Federal cabinet, especially wheat. 1000 rupees per 50 kilogrammes bag will be given as subsidy on fertilizers, according to the package.

According to media reports, the Federal and Provincial government will share the subsidy in 70 and 30 percent ratio. On weedicides and fungicides, per acre subsidy will be given at the rate of 250 rupees and 150 rupees respectively by the Federal Government.

The cabinet further decided that the provinces will distribute the subsidy in their already prevalent manner but will be responsible for ensuring transparency.

The Federal cabinet also approved granting legal powers to district and session judges in 19 districts of the country to check smuggling. It granted approval to the procedure for appointment of chief executives in all government departments and companies.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to ensure a transparent and merit-based procedure for these appointments. He told the cabinet members that a mechanism has been formulated to resolve problems of National Assembly members being faced in their respective constituencies.

The Premier further added that action will be taken against district administration and officers of the departments concerned for failing in timely redressal of a complaint.
