President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, in a helicopter crash.

In their separate statements, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Foreign Minister, and others who lost their lives in the accident.

President Raisi’s devoted contributions to the Muslim Ummah were honored by President Zardari, who also emphasized his unwavering support for the Ummah’s unity. He stressed that the Islamic world had lost a great leader who had always stood up for Islam and had a profound understanding of the suffering of Muslims everywhere, especially those in Palestine and Kashmir. Pakistan is in mourning at a dear friend’s passing. He mentioned how the Iranian President always had a special place in his heart for Pakistan and its people, recalling his recent visit to Pakistan.

The death of Ebrahim Raisi, according to Asif Ali Zardari, was a huge loss for the Muslim Ummah as a whole as well as for Iran. He stated that because of his efforts to improve ties with neighboring and Islamic nations, President Raisi will be greatly mourned and warmly remembered in Iran, Pakistan, and the Islamic world.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that Pakistan was a good friend of both the Foreign Minister and the President of Iran in a post on his X handle. He declared that in observance of President Raisi and his comrades, as well as in sympathy with the Iranian people, Pakistan will commemorate a day of sorrow and fly the flag at half-mast. He predicted that the brave Iranian people would rise above this calamity.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokeswoman for the Foreign Office, stated in a statement today that “we stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in this time of national tragedy.” She stated that Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister, and President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi were both renowned politicians and leaders whose efforts for their nation, bolstering Pakistan-Iran relations, and promoting regional cooperation will never be forgotten.
