PTI govt making efforts to introduce electronic voting to ensure transparency: Shibli

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government has been making efforts to introduce electronic voting system in the next general elections to ensure transparency and impartiality in elections.

This has been stated by the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz while briefing media persons on decisions taken in the federal cabinet meeting held in Islamabad on Wednesday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the government wants that Overseas Pakistanis also take part in the next electoral process and cast votes. He said Overseas Pakistanis have an important role in economic progress of the country.

The Information Minister further stated that the Prime Minister emphasized on ensuring transparency in elections so that everyone has confidence over the electoral process and no one could raise objections over it. He said the PTI’s efforts for the upcoming Senate elections are aimed at ensuring transparency in the process.

“People have also come to know the elements who want use of money in the Senate elections,” he added.
