US envoy on Afghanistan discusses Afghan peace process with COAS

The Special Representative of United States (US) for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has discussed regional security situation and Afghan peace process with particular reference to border management with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

According to media reports, the US Special Representative has called on the COAS Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Monday. The way forward for lasting peace in Afghanistan was discussed during the meeting.

The delegation also appreciated Pakistan’s untiring efforts for facilitating the process towards the mutual objective of peace in the region.
