Xi Jinping elected as President of China for third time

Xi Jinping has been elected as President of China for the third time by the country’s parliament.

According to the media reports, this is unprecedented in the history of China that the parliament has elected a president for third time.

Nearly 3,000 members of China’s parliament, the National People’s Congress, voted unanimously in the Great Hall of the People for Xi to be president.

The voting lasted for about an hour and the electronic counting was completed in about 15 minutes.

Xi Jinping will continue his duties as President of China for the third time.
