A 101-year-old man in the United States of America, Merrill Putman Cooper has finally completes his graduation and earned his high school degree after 84 years.
According to media reports, Merrill Putman Cooper from the US state of West Virginia finally graduated from high school after leaving school in the 1930’s and waiting for almost 84 years.
101-year-old man Merrill Putman Cooper reportedly studied at a West Virginia high school store from 1934 to 1938, but his education was affected when he and his mother were forced to move to another city, Philadelphia, for financial reasons.

The reports further stated that Cooper’s high school subjects included Latin, biology, history, English and maths and he also wanted to go to college but his fate didn’t allow him to do so.
However, after moving to Philadelphia, he pursued a career in transportation, and after much hard work he became vice president of the union, but he always regretted for his high school degree.
Later in 2018, his relatives contacted the authorities to allay their grievances, who worked with the West Virginia Department of Education to obtain an honorary degree. So on March 19, Cooper and his family attended a special graduation ceremony during which they were awarded an honorary degree by the high school.
